URBASIS Spring School - Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Seismology
In the framework of the European ITN URBASIS-EU project, we are organizing a spring university on seismic risk in urban environments from May 16 to May 21, 2022, in Autrans (30 minutes from Grenoble, France), in the French Alpine Space.
Objectives
The objective of this spring university is to provide students (PhD, post-doc and others) with an insight into research issues in seismology and engineering seismology in the broadest sense, and current and emerging research topics on seismic risk in interaction with the components that make up urban environments. Among these topics, we find the prediction of seismic ground motion and site effects, the emerging risk associated with induced seismicity, risk characterization and losses prediction, wave propagation in complex urban environments, etc...
Program
The school program of each day will include lectures and keynotes given by the invited speakers and lecturers.
The spirit of this spring university is also to gather young scientits and senior scientits in an friendly environment. Time slots will be scheduled to create an effective friendly interaction between speakers and students.
Participants are encouraged to present a poster

COVID-19 notice
The URBASIS project started 6 months before the first lock-down related to the health crisis. The PhD students of the project (but also the others) who started at this period could not fully benefit from the scientific environments usually present in academic laboratories.
For this reason, we have agreed on the importance of holding the URBASIS-EU spring school in-person rather than holding an online meeting. We want to place this university as a return to a normal situation and promote live scientific interactions. At the moment, considering the evolution of the health situation in Europe, we are considering a 100% in-person event.
Of course, we will make every effort to ensure we comply with all hygiene and safety measures and to provide you with a safe experience on our conference facilities. The in-person option will be conditioned to the evolution of the situation.
All participants will need to respect the preventive measures put in place in the conference center. The health pass will be required and an additional PCR test may be required.
Registration closed
Registration fees*, **
Non URBASIS PhD Students: 400€ - Post-Doc and other: 600€
*Actual price may vary slightly
** Registration fees cover attending of all conference sessions, coffee break, lunches, accommodation, transfers between the school and Grenoble train station, social events.
