URBASIS Training Course - Writing your PhD and Beyond

Writing your PhD and Beyond
Online platform, 25 - 27 May 2021
Lectures given by the RDP

Introduction of the course
With an increased workload often characterising 2nd year and PhD life, an obvious question to ask is: How do I improve my writing strategies to help me with my PhD and beyond?! This practical, pragmatic and interactive three-module course starts by laying a foundation for your academic writing by showing you how academic English ‘works’ and explores a simple principle to create clear writing. With our foundation in place, Module 2 looks at effective strategies for drafting your PhD or an article, as well as uncovering a simple template to help you write effective Introductions, Conclusions and Abstracts. Module 3 builds on the drafting skills of the previous module by showing you simple but effective strategies to edit your work to make it shine.
